The strength on Flossie Wright’s wrist tightened slightly, pulling Clara Birch, who was about to fall backward, back. A sweeping leg hit harshly on Clara’s waist. Flossie’s speed was always astonishingly fast, it seemed like Clara had just felt the pain on her chin before the unbearable agony in her abdomen came surging. Such a merciless force seemed to churn her internal organs into mush, causing overwhelming pain that left Clara’s face twisted. At the moment Flossie let go of her, Clara immediately crumbled to the ground clutching her stomach.
The sudden incident left Agnes Parker utterly unresponsive. She witnessed the fight, unable to believe that Clara would lose to Flossie in just a few moves. She instinctively wanted to help Clara up, but after taking a step forward, she suddenly realized something and abruptly shifted her direction, charging towards Becca Reyes!
She couldn’t win against either Flossie or Becca, all she needed to do now was figure out how to break through their ranks!
Feeling movement and lifting her head, Clara saw Agnes, who had abandoned her, charging at Becca. With her eyes wide open in perplexity, she seemed unable to comprehend the situation at hand. Her mouth hung open in agony, but her face was filled not only with pain and torment but also shock and disappointment.
The person she had been trying to protect from the start had abandoned her without hesitation at such a critical juncture!
The shock made Clara unable to recover for a moment. She watched Agnes fight with Becca, getting knocked to the ground with little resistance in just a few moves.
"What the hell are you trying to do?" Seeing Agnes’s pathetic situation, Clara suddenly turned around and screamed at Flossie, "Janice Wood isn’t dead, are you going to kill us too?!"
Without a doubt, Clara was greatly disturbed.
Otherwise, she would never have lost her cool to such an extent, especially in front of Flossie and Becca.
Compared to Agnes’s impulsiveness, Clara usually considered the entire situation. If not for Agnes’s actions throwing her emotions into disarray, she would have kept her cool and battled wits with Flossie. Even knowing that there was no possibility of turning the tables, she wouldn’t have humiliated herself in front of Flossie.
Flossie kicked the stone at her foot away nonchalantly, then slowly took two steps towards Clara. Looking down at Clara, she parted her thin lips, "Your life, I disdain."
Her voice was as cold as ice, and the words she uttered with the night breeze trampled all over Clara’s dignity, ruthlessly crushing it.
Clara stared fiercely at Flossie, her eyes filled with bloody red veins. Her hatred and anger surged like a tidal wave, as if she wanted to swallow and drown Flossie.
No one could tolerate being insulted in such a manner!
Her hands placed on the ground tightened unexpectedly, her fingers dug into the soil beneath the grass. A clump of dirt was clutched in her palm, the harsh ground poked at her fingers, but her grip didn’t falter, as if she were grasping Flossie.
She wanted nothing more than to grind Flossie to dust!
"You two, one of you stays." Flossie glanced at her indifferently, completely ignoring her inner turmoil and hatred. She even added casually, "One of you must stay."
Clara’s thoughts were momentarily distracted, she watched Flossie warily, but couldn’t understand what Flossie meant.
What does ’one stays’ mean?
She and Agnes?
Before she could react, a black object suddenly fell from above, striking her head then landing on the ground.
Then came Flossie’s cold voice, "Pick it up!"
