Flossie Wright’s expression remained unchanged as she waited for Glenn Hutchinson’s next words.
After staring at her for a moment, Glenn Hutchinson simply reached out, wrapped his arm around her shoulder, and pulled her into his embrace.
Caught off guard, Flossie Wright clenched her fists as she leaned forward, but a sense of resignation swiftly crossed her eyes. Her tightly clenched fists slightly relaxed, and she did not act out against Glenn Hutchinson.
She silently accepted the embrace.
Little did she know, her thoughts were tumultuous.
"I’m asking you, have you changed your opinion about the Forces?" he whispered into her ear, his voice extremely grave.
It was like a test; there might still be opportunities for her in the future, but any negative answer would cause Glenn Hutchinson to change his mind.
"I have changed my opinion," she replied decisively.
From having no concept to appreciating one, from observing from afar to becoming one of its members, from indifference to wanting to protect...
She was accustomed to the carefree life of a mercenary, and so she initially resented the disciplined life of the Forces. As she got used to the order of the Forces, she began to see something new—spirit that fully embraced challenges in the face of adversity, displayed by those young and passionate soldiers.
They each had their beliefs.
The country, the people, oneself, the future, someone...
Now, Flossie Wright was one of them.
She still had no faith, she was still unique, in both ability and thought, and she stood from a different perspective that was not easily swayed. But she no longer felt out of place in the Forces; she began to appreciate and understand their existence and came to admire their spirit.
Just as the old Mr. Wright had said, one should be prepared to make sacrifices for the people.
She wasn’t prepared.
But, she was ready to become a qualified soldier.
"Do you accept it?" Glenn Hutchinson continued to ask.
Flossie Wright responded calmly.
The next moment, Glenn Hutchinson let go of her. He observed her serene and calm demeanor and her firm, clear eyes.
"I will question you."
Glenn Hutchinson spoke steadily, yet his voice carried a hint of gravity.
From an emotional standpoint, Glenn Hutchinson would choose to trust Flossie Wright.
But rationally speaking, he was going to be Flossie Wright’s captain, which meant he had to be responsible for her, as well as for the other team members.
In truth, there were many capabilities of Flossie Wright that he still had not fully understood, especially as she continued to grow.
Particularly after the last live exercise, Glenn Hutchinson had inquired in detail and formed a new concept about Flossie Wright’s courage and actions.
He would need to wait and see.
He had to train her before he would know what she was truly like.
As a captain, he needed to understand each team member comprehensively before making a selection.
The previous invitation to Flossie Wright was merely a ticket for her, and even he did not know whether she could truly stay.
Facing Glenn Hutchinson’s doubts, Flossie Wright nodded directly without any objection.
Given her past performance, Glenn Hutchinson indeed had cause to doubt her.
"I’ve changed my mind," he said, dismissing the last of his doubts as he saw her composed manner, and suddenly raised his eyebrows slightly.
Flossie Wright asked with a puzzled frown.
Bowing his head slightly, Glenn Hutchinson looked straight at her and began slowly, "In December, you have an annual exercise."
With a shift in her eyes, Flossie Wright immediately guessed what he meant and asked, "Are you the Blue Army?"
