Unsolicited flattery, either a crook or a thief.
"What’s the matter?" Seeing Iris Dukes’ disappointed expression, Flossie Wright cut straight to the point.
"Aren’t you married to Captain Hutchinson?" Iris Dukes blinked her big watery eyes, filled with evident amusement, part flattery, part shyness.
"Who told you that?" Flossie laughed and asked.
Rolling her eyes, Iris decisively said, "Many people said so."
Sell anyone but not a teammate!
"Go on," Flossie raised her eyebrows slightly.
Iris was holding a Steamed Bun in each hand, about to speak but hesitated, lightly biting her lip, the buns in her hands bumped together, until she noticed Joshua Bailey approaching. After hesitating for a while, she quickly spoke, "I want to know about Jude Marsh’s birthday, hobbies, family, and whether he has a girlfriend..."
Flossie looked up, slightly surprised.
But Iris’ voice abruptly stopped, blinking innocently at Flossie.
After a pause, Flossie understood and nodded slightly, extending her arms to wrap them around Iris’ shoulders.
"That’s not a problem."
Flossie raised her eyebrows and led Iris outside, avoiding the hint of a puzzled look Jude Marsh cast from within the cafeteria.
"Really?" Iris looked at her in surprise.
"Yeah." Flossie nodded as if assuring her.
Iris blinked her eyes.
For some reason, even though she trusted Flossie completely, she felt like Flossie had more to say.
That feeling of being set up only made her feel a chill down her spine...
Flossie whispered a few words in her ear.
Just then, Joshua Bailey arrived at the doorway, spying their mysterious demeanor. Although puzzled, he focused on business and blew the whistle in his hand straightaway.
"Beep—beep—beep—"
The piercing whistle sounded at the cafeteria entrance, resonating throughout the cafeteria.
Amidst the piercing sound, Iris’ voice was drowned out, but her obedient nodding action was extremely clear.
Flossie looked at her like a pet, patting her head.
Iris beamed with a wide smile.
"I’ll ask for you in the afternoon," Flossie promised Iris with a smirk.
During peacekeeping, Flossie occasionally noticed Iris hovering around Jude Marsh, but didn’t pay much attention then. Seeing Iris actively inquiring now, Flossie was quite surprised.
However, in this matter, Flossie had no reason to refuse.
It’s a simple task, and if it could lead to something good, why not?
Iris smiled brightly, but in the end, when Flossie was busy heading for assembly, she still hadn’t taken Iris’ Steamed Bun.
As Jude Marsh stepped outside, he saw Iris standing at the door grinning foolishly, holding two long-cold buns in her hands, and merely furrowed his brows slightly without saying a word.

When Flossie reached the ranks, the trainees had just assembled, each one standing ramrod straight.
Snow and wind were swirling, hitting them directly, making it hard to keep their eyes open.
"We’ll change up today’s training," Joshua Bailey stood with hands behind his back, speaking unhurriedly.
The cold wind howled, yet ensured every sound was clearly audible to their ears.
"Today, you must have seen that only the morning exercise content was announced in the training plan. Starting today, you only need to complete the morning exercise training. Beyond that, your time is entirely up to you. In ten days, we will conduct assessments on several subjects, and the subject content will be announced at noon. During these ten days, you may focus on training any of your weak areas, and if you have any difficulties, you can approach any instructor you know, or even have an instructor help you devise a training plan."
The uninformed Night Vice Officer looked up at the sky.
Just one day’s absence, and everything changes so quickly...
