Feeling a bit too full, it wasn’t suitable for vigorous exercise, so Flossie Wright strolled around the playground for half an hour before running towards the Training Ground.
Just like yesterday, Flossie trained until one o’clock in the morning before running back to take a shower and sleep.
A night of peaceful sleep.
The next day at five thirty, Flossie woke up on time.
She dressed and, as always, followed her previous training regimen and went to the Training Ground to train.
Such punctuality, enthusiasm, and effort shocked the two cooks on the Grassland beside the canteen; their eyes and jaws nearly dropped to the ground.
"Aren’t they on holiday?"
"Yeah, I saw Nancy Phillips going home in civilian clothes yesterday."
"Right, I’m not misremembering, am I..."
"Well then, the question is, why is Flossie up so early during her holiday?!"
"To train, of course!"
Inside the canteen, only the sound of swearing could be heard, expressing their astonishment.
I’m really impressed!
They simply could not understand why Flossie would seek out such self-punishment on a rare day of rest.
While sweeping the floor, the two cooks gradually came to an understanding.
This might be the sole reason "they were still in the cooking class while Flossie Wright had become an official Frogman."
With her putting in so much effort and them just being amazed, it was clear that there was more than just a level or two of difference between them.
For the next two days, Flossie trained in her usual manner, even increasing her training volume when there wasn’t enough equipment and taking the opportunity to go free diving in the sea.
Eventually, her self-directed training time came to an end after she woke up on the third day.
The assembly call at five thirty sounded on time.
Three minutes later, a neatly dressed Flossie arrived downstairs, standing alongside Nancy Phillips.
Standing in front of them, holding a whistle and dressed in a training uniform, was a rather familiar looking male soldier.
The male soldier, displaying a single bar with two stars at his collar, was about twenty-five or twenty-six, young and vibrant; yet, with regular features and a serious expression, he seemed cold and aloof, not easy to approach.
He seemed even more difficult to deal with than Ella Pemberton.
If Flossie remembered correctly, he was the Amphibious Frogman Team’s Sniper.
The brim of his hat was pulled down low, hiding his sharp eyes, and his piercing gaze swept over both of them. He took a step forward and spoke firmly, "My name is Franklin Cody, ’Cody’ as in strict Cody, ’Franklin’ as in the sword Franklin."
After his self-introduction, both Flossie and Nancy Phillips watched him intently, without shifting their gaze.
Franklin Cody looked at them and said resolutely, "Starting today, I will be taking over from Captain Pemberton and will be your temporary Instructor."
As soon as he finished speaking, Nancy Phillips’s shout was heard.
Franklin Cody looked at her coldly, his piercing gaze exerting an almost unbearable pressure.
"I want to know when Captain Pemberton will be back!" Nancy’s voice rang out firmly.
"That’s none of your concern," Franklin Cody’s eyes turned even colder in an instant.
"We have already adapted to Captain Pemberton’s training!" Nancy stated decisively, "So, if your training isn’t good enough, we have the right to know when our previous Instructor will return!"
Flossie gave her a sideways glance.
They both understood that Nancy wasn’t targeting the new Instructor or anxious for Ella Pemberton to come back.
She wanted to know if Ella Pemberton would return at all.
Because of a request from Ella Pemberton’s husband, she had been transferred to another hospital two days ago, and her phone had been switched off, leaving Nancy unable to contact her; even Jessie Grain, who was staying at the hospital, couldn’t find out any information.
