That also spared some mourning.
What has passed, has passed.
At nightfall, Flossie Wright was wandering slowly down the street, holding skewered meat bought from a roadside stall, contemplating her place for the night and whether to buy some gear for a trip into the mountains tomorrow.
The skewered meat was unfinished, but her thoughts had taken form.
Yet, a group of people suddenly appearing in her field of vision drew her attention.
As it was nearing dusk, the visibility was still quite clear.
The group consisted of seven people, each carrying backpacks, dressed as tourists, mostly in short sleeves given the hot weather.
Almost at a glance, Flossie saw the sickening flower of the other shore.
Tattoos on shoulders, wrists, feet...
Various styles.
But they directly proved their identity.
Bailey Maynard.
The very Mercenary Corps led by Gavin.
Flossie paused slightly.
Then, she frowned.
Why were Gavin’s men here?
Could it be that Gavin was up to something inside Eastlandia again?
Pressing down the brim of her hat, Flossie continued strolling forward, while eating the mutton skewer in her hand and observing the commotion ahead.
While following them, Flossie wasn’t idle; she stopped at several food stalls, getting a snack at each, eating as she trailed behind, quite at ease.
Such that—
The man behind watching her felt all the more annoyed.
Truly, a baffling woman.
As nightfall approached, that group headed straight up the mountain.
Before heading up the mountain, Flossie finished the snacks she was holding, stretched, and leisurely followed after them.

The man kept following from behind.
Initially, he thought that Flossie’s blatant tailing would easily draw attention, but what appeared blatant to him, Flossie somehow managed to skillfully conceal her presence amidst her lazy yet prompt actions.
He deliberately walked past the places where Flossie had paused, yet found no trace of her at all.
Hence, his peculiar impression of Flossie deepened further.
Such skills are impossible without training.
Flossie kept walking effortlessly, as if taking a stroll, yet could stay in sync with the group’s movements, her stamina was extraordinary.
After dusk fully set in, he realized that the figure that had been wandering in front of him just moments ago had vanished without a trace in mere seconds.
Under the moonlight shining from afar, the man carefully observed the trees ahead, yet failed to see Flossie’s figure amongst them.
"Hey, looking for me?"
The voice floated down leisurely from above.
Instantly on guard, the man raised his eyes nonchalantly.
The moonlight was bright, allowing for relatively clear visibility.
Beneath the dense branches, with moonlight filtering through, the scattered light spots revealed a figure lying on the thickest branch if one looked closely.
Upon seeing the figure clearly, the man took a step back.
Looking up again, Flossie’s figure became increasingly distinct.
She sat on the branch, leaning against the trunk, holding her hat in hand, slowly swinging it, her gaze relaxed as she looked down, a faint smile emerging in her eyes upon making eye contact with him.
The man’s expression was stern and cold.
After a moment, he asked in a deep voice, "What are you doing here?"
