After getting the gist, Flossie Wright turned her body to face the uninhabited side.
All she could hear were curses directed at mercenaries.
When Flossie Wright lifted her eyes, a faint emotion flickered through her glossy black eyes and vanished in an instant, leaving nothing behind.
Everyone has their own stance.
Had it been her own people, they would have probably turned the entire SWAT team upside down.
Many times, controlling strength meant controlling the right to speak.
That’s what she was thinking.
And then, she let it go.
"Still eating?"
As the discussion faded, Flossie suddenly heard a cold voice asking.
Opening her eyes and looking sideways, she saw Nancy Phillips passing her a piece of chocolate.
Flossie glanced doubtfully at Nancy Phillips.
Frowning, Nancy Phillips avoided her gaze and explained in a flat voice, "You still need to eat."
"Thanks," replied Flossie, raising an eyebrow and taking the chocolate.
Their journey continued without conversation.
This was a police helicopter, but since they were, after all, allied forces, they took their duty seriously and specially delivered them back to the Navy Base.
Nancy Phillips’ request was to go directly to the Military District Hospital.
The two of them rappelled down.
"Are you going to take a look?"
As soon as she landed, Nancy Phillips asked Flossie.
After a moment of contemplation, Flossie lifted her gaze and saw the Military District Hospital bathed in a golden glow under the scorching two o’clock sun.

Without giving it much thought, Flossie answered promptly.
And so, armed with guns and dressed in combat gear, the two of them calmly and composedly entered the hospital through its main entrance amid the stares of passersby.
Having inquired about the whereabouts of Jessie Grain and Ella Pemberton, the pair wasted no time in heading to their ward.
"You guys came."
Just reaching the third-floor corridor, they saw Jessie Grain approaching with a surprised look on her face.
Nancy Phillips nodded and then, looking at all the bandages over her, asked, "How are you faring?"
Jessie Grain, now dressed in a large hospital gown, managed to conceal many of her bandages, but there were bandages on her forehead, palms, and wrists, and even beneath the loose neckline, traces of bandages could be faintly seen.
She must have been seriously injured.
"Not bad," Jessie Grain said with a bent lip and a smile, "I didn’t die."
Her response was exactly like Flossie’s.
"..." Nancy Phillips paused for a second, then without further questioning changed the subject, "What about the Captain?"
At the mention of this, Jessie Grain’s expression stiffened momentarily before she replied with reluctant acceptance, "Just pulled through from the operating table and is somewhat conscious now, but her mood isn’t great. My suggestion is you two go back first, have a good shower, change your clothes, rest up, and then come see her. It will also give her some time alone to adjust her mood."
"Okay." Nancy Phillips, with knit brows, seemed to agree and then asked, "What about the Captain’s... um, husband?"
"Supposedly he’s away on business, just got the news, and is rushing over," Jessie Grain said, eyes downturned as she shared everything she knew without reservation.
Nancy Phillips’s frown deepened.
Having known Ella Pemberton for two years, she knew her better than Flossie Wright and Jessie Grain did.
From what she knew, Ella Pemberton’s husband was a corporate CEO, and of course, it wasn’t a matter of Ella chasing money; after all, Ella herself came from a family of scholars with respectable backgrounds, and their marriage was well-matched.
Her husband had always opposed her military career.
