However, they weren’t arranged in order of ranking, but according to the alphabetical order of their names, irrespective of their performance.
As expected, the names of Flossie Wright and Becca Reyes were on the list. Their whole group had made the cut, but there were still many who didn’t.
Out of 500 people, 300 were left.
This time, the selection had nearly eliminated half of the new recruits.
In the crowd of onlookers, feelings of elation and disappointment intermingled. Just by looking at their expressions, one could tell who had made it through.
"Hey, you two have moved over here, huh?"
Not long after they stopped, a hearty voice approached them. Looking up, they saw Stuart Weston’s face.
He seemed to be in a good mood, a smile spread across his face.
Becca Reyes responded, instinctively looking around.
Where Stuart was, Calvin Ramos would usually be nearby.
But this time, she surveyed the entire area and couldn’t find his familiar figure.
"Looking for Calvin?" Stuart seemed to understand her intent, his eyes full of laughter, but a hint of loneliness flickered, "He’s already gone to the canteen."
Coming to her senses, Becca Reyes absentmindedly nodded.
Since the last incident, she hadn’t made any effort to find Calvin Ramos.
There was some awkwardness, of course. Even though she had come to terms with what happened that night, the way Flossie described Calvin had made her feel uneasy.
She was truly confused, unsure whether to distance herself from Calvin, or to throw caution to the wind and pursue him ardently.
"It’s time," Stuart stared at Becca, "Are you guys going to grab breakfast?"
When he said "you guys", Stuart didn’t even glance at Flossie Wright.
"Shall we go?"
Becca turned her head to ask for Flossie’s opinion.
"No need," Flossie paused slightly, "Just get a couple of Steamed Buns for me."
"Where are you going?" Becca asked, puzzled.
Flossie gave a quick smile and turned around, "To the shooting range."
With a wave of her hand, Flossie Wright left the crowd.
Looking at her retreating figure headed to the shooting range, Becca frowned, feeling bewildered.
"Why did she suddenly change?"
Stuart looked equally bemused, watching Flossie’s receding figure, feeling that something was off.
Becca shrugged helplessly after glancing at him, "I don’t know."
It was undeniable that sometimes Flossie could be quite unpredictable, changing attitudes suddenly.
Just a moment ago, she was nonchalantly doing her morning exercises, and now without even eating, she had rushed off to the shooting range...
Her mood shifts were certainly quicker than flipping a book.
The outdoor shooting range.
Flossie Wright stood with a 95 style automatic rifle, left eye slightly closed, the opening right eye dark and shimmering with a glint.
Eight hundred meters.
Her index finger hooked on the trigger, her eyes flashing, suddenly she pulled the trigger.
"Bang bang bang——"
In less than ten seconds, ten bullets had been fired.
Squinting in satisfaction, Flossie collected her rifle, not even bothering to look at the target.
"Found you here."
Carrying the rifle on her back, Flossie turned around just in time to hear a breezy voice.
Her eyes narrowed as she swept her glance over to see Rowdy Brightwill’s beaming face.
Under the morning sun, his smile was enveloped in the warm glow, exuding a sense of warmth.
